ComfortDelGro’s fleet flag-down fare to increase S$0.50

ComfortDelGro has announced a recent adjustment in taxi fares and surcharges, set to commence at 6 a.m. on 13 December. The move aims to assist its drivers in managing increased operational costs.

In a recent statement, the taxi operator revealed a series of changes affecting its fleet, excluding limousine taxis. This includes a S$0.50 rise in flag-down fares, accompanied by a one-cent increase in distances covered and waiting time fares.

Notably, vehicles like the Hyundai i40, Hyundai Ioniq, Hyundai Kona, BYD E6, Toyota Prius, and Toyota Sienta taxis are covered by this fare adjustment.

While the flag-down fares for limousine taxis will remain unchanged after their revision on 30 November, the distances covered and waiting time fares will be adjusted to S$0.36, a marginal increase from the previous S$0.35

This fare adjustment will result in an estimated 6.8% rise in the fare for a 10km off-peak normal taxi journey, resulting in an approximate increase of $0.94, taking the fare from S$13.80 to S$14.74.

Additionally, ComfortDelGro has extended the evening peak hour surcharge for all taxis by an extra hour, now from 5:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. Furthermore, the company will introduce a new peak hour surcharge from 10:00 a.m. to 1:59 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. These changes are set to take effect across the board.
