DBS now monitoring the DBS IT system situation closely

After the 12-hour disruption that rendered people unable to use the DBS banking apps, customers were finally able to use DBS platforms again on Wednesday evening.

According to DBS, DBS/POSB digibank mobile online services, DBS PayLah!, and DBS mTrading services have all returned to normal. The bank is also monitoring the situation closely.

DBS recently made a decision to extend its banking hours by two hours at all branches, as well as investment service Treasures centres, when its digital services suffered the said disruption that started at 7 am.

On the DBS website that tracks outages, there were more than 360 reports by 8:30 am. At 9:20 am, DBS issued a statement to confirm that its digital services were down.

“Please be assured that your deposits and monies are safe and secure.”

“It kept asking me to reset my PIN when I wanted to change my transaction limits, but I didn’t receive any PIN. Eventually, I couldn’t log in at all,” said DBS app user Mr. Su.

According to the bank, the delays were caused by a high volume of logins.

In 2021, the bank experienced its worst disruption of the decade when its services were disrupted over a span of three days.
