Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong appointed as the new chairman of MASYour Content Goes Here

DPM and Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong was appointed as the new MAS chairman.

He will start on 8 July 2023 to 31 May 2026. Wong has been the MAS deputy chairman since 1 June 2021, and he also served as a member of the MAS Board from June 2021 to August 2016.

Wong will replace Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for social policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam who served as the MAS chairman for 12 years since May 2011. He will step down on 8 July.

Gan Kim Yong, the Minister for Trade and Industry, will replace Wong as deputy chairman of the MAS board from 8 July 2023 to 31 May 2026.
