Lion city stands out in Euromonitor top 100 destinations index

Singapore bested other countries in the region in the top 100 destinations index, according to Euromonitor International, a marketing insights firm. Following Singapore is Tokyo, which bagged 20th place.

This 2022, Tourism Policy and Attractiveness, and Health and Safety are the pillars with the best improvements in ranking for the region.

For the last four years, Singapore ranked first place in economic and business performance. Meanwhile, it placed third for tourism policy and attractiveness. The Lion City is the only non-European city in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Singapore ranked fifth for health and safety. The city is known all over the globe as a corruption-free destination. For this field, Singapore is mostly competing with Nordic cities.

As Singapore reopens its borders to hold high-profile international events, it is further cementing its status as a financial hub in Asia.

Singapore is extremely popular for business travel, especially for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions).

The Singapore Tourism Board also previously launched INSPIRE Global 2.0, an initiative that offers incentives for qualified MICE groups.

There are also new attractions in the area such as the SkyHelix Sentosa, and the city continues to host world-famous events like the Formula One motor race, which helped increase its profile.
